Letter from Alice H. Easton, Nantucket, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1851 [August] 17
Description:
Alice H. Easton writes to Samuel May inviting him to come to Nantucket "and have some meetings with us." Easton says the abolitionists of Nantucket want William Lloyd Garrison and Robert Folger Wallcut to come also, and that "the friends will be on the wharf to receive you, they say, on your arrival." In the postscript, Easton mentions a sermon by "Mr. Forman" and states that Stephen S. Foster and Nathaniel H. Whiting are also requested at the meeting.
