Additional information from accompanying material: 787. Tomb of Dewan Shoorfa Khan [i.e., Diwan Shurfa Khan] (built in 1049 Hijree [i.e., Hijri] (A.D. 1639) on the "Muklee" [i.e., Makli] range of hills near Tatta). Dewan Shoorfa Khan was the grandson of Meer Ullek Urgon [i.e., Mir Arghun]. He was "Dewan" or Minister during the government of Nawab Ameer Khan [i.e., Amir Khan], and remained in office up to the year 1054 Hijree (A.D. 1644). No further account of him is given. The above is a summary of information communicated by Syud Hoosain Ali Shah, son of Syud Sabur Ali Shah, of Tatta, from reference to a manuscript entiltled "The Tofut-il-Kiram" (gift for the blessed) in his possession, being a local history compiled by his family. Syud Shukkooroolla, his ancestor, settled at Tatta in the year 927 Hijree (A.D. 1520).
The text accompanying this photo matches an entry in "A classified and descriptive catalogue of the Indian Department" by Watson, J. Forbes (W.H. Allen & Co., 1873, London), which contains descriptions of displays at the Vienna Universal Exhibition of 1873.
