Additional information from accompanying material: 785. Tomb of Ameer Khalleel Khan (built between the year 980 and 993 (A.D. 1572 & 1585) on the "Muklee" [i.e., Makli] range of hills near Tatta). This tomb was built during the lifetime of the Ameer Khalleel Khan; but he is said to have been so conscientious a man that he would not permit his body to be interred therein, being apprehensive injustice might have been done even in building it. he therefore desired that his body should be buried near it. Seven hafizes or religious devotees were buried in the tomb. The small tomb to the right is where the Ameer was actually buried, & which is situated in the enclosure of the large tomb.
The text accompanying this photo matches an entry in "A classified and descriptive catalogue of the Indian Department" by Watson, J. Forbes (W.H. Allen & Co., 1873, London), which contains descriptions of displays at the Vienna Universal Exhibition of 1873. The tomb is incorrectly identified in the text.
