Letter from William Lloyd Garrison, Boston, to Samuel May, July 28, 1849
Description:
Garrison accepts an invitation to speak on slavery at a meeting in Leicester. He asks for posters to advertise the meeting. Garrison says that Father Theobald Mathew declined an invitation to the meeting because of a disinclination to commit himself on the question of slavery. / Everett says that he invited various friends and acquaintances to the meeting. He hopes that May can induce some Unitarian ministers to attend.
