The room is two stories high with bookshelves also in the gallery running around the upper portion. Printed in color in February 1929 issue. Thomas Mansion at 43 Monument Square, originally erected for John Wade Damon who lived there till his death in 1863 - and which was described by Hunnewell as "the most expensive, as well as the most elaborately furnished brick house ever built on the peninsula."
