Letter from Robert Rae, London, to William Lloyd Garrison, Sept 12, 1867
Description:
Robert Rae from the National Temperance League in London expresses his regret that William Lloyd Garrison did not attend their previous meeting in spite of the fact that the condition Garrison had given for not attending (the possibility of his leaving the country before the meeting) was not met. Rae says Garrison’s letter was read and published, but he would like an opportunity for his associates to hear from Garrison in person. He invites Garrison to a meeting on October 9th or 10th, saying that those dates have been chosen in consideration of Garrison’s schedule.
