Letter from Eliza Wigham, Edinburgh, [Scotland], to Mary Anne Estlin, 1850 [September] 13
Description:
Eliza Wigham writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to receiving a "dozen or two of thy father's reply." She writes that she has "circulated a number of her letter but the disaffected do not like it, & the well affected do not need it so that we do not find it does much good." She doesn't believe the Glasgow circular has done much here. She remarks that the Committee have been dissatisfied with the religious arguments of American abolitionists and as a result will forward no box of contributions this year, although, a few of them have still agreed to forward what they collect as individuals. She hopes to have a reply from Boston.
