PROVENANCE: Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy Q.405.84 with ownership inscription of Hieronymus Münzer of Nuremberg, dated 1494, on front pastedown: "1494 Hic Libell[us] est mei Ieronimi Monetarii de felkirchen artiu[m] ast[?] Vtrius[que?] medicinae doctoris que[m] mihi co[m]paraui du[m] essem Parisi[us] in peregrinatione Hispanica a[n]no [...]97 in dieb[us] martii." Annotated in Münzer's hand throughout. Passed by descent in 1508 to Hieronymus Holzschuher (1469-1529). Later to Ferdinand Freiherr von Hoffmann of Grünbüchel and Strechau (1540-1607), and then gifted, ca. 1669, to Prince Ferdinand von Dietrichstein (1628-1698). Dealer's notes (Gilhofer & Ranschburg?) on front pastedown, including pencilled code "SLB2532," and in red crayon "Incunabeln 141." "I, III, 30" in blue crayon on both front pastedown and title page. Bookplate of the BPL J.L. Whitney Fund on rear pastedown. Described by E.P. Goldschmidt in Hieronymus Münzer und seine Bibliothek (London: Warburg Institute, 1938), no. 23. Acquired in March, 1937.
