The document was written on February 25th by committee-man John Cutter. It is a notice requiring the constable of the northwest precinct of Cambridge, Samuel Whittemore, to notify freeholders and inhabitants of the area, who are qualified to vote, to attend a town meeting. The meeting would take place at the meetinghouse on March 9th at 1pm. The tasks required for the meeting were to choose precinct officers for the following year and to receive a report from the committee appointed to seat the meetinghouse. A response was required on or before the date for the meeting. The reverse contains a short response from Samuel Whittemore that he has notified the proper parties. Strangely, it is dated March 6th, 1746.
