The document was written on February 25th by committee-man John Cutter. It is a notice requiring the constable of the northwest precinct of Cambridge, Jason Russell, to notify freeholders and inhabitants of the area as well as those of Charlestown, who are qualified to vote, to attend a town meeting. The meeting would take place at the meetinghouse on March 11th at 2pm. The tasks required for the meeting (numbered 1-5) were to choose precinct officers for the following year; to increase Reverend Samuel Cooke's salary; to grant a sum of money to cover charges arising in the precinct; to grant money to purchase a burying cloth for the precinct; and to hear a motion from Timothy Swan, the former collector. A response was required on or before the date for the meeting. The reverse contains a short response from Jason Russell that he has notified the proper parties. Dated March 9th. Note: The signature of Jason Russell on the back for the document matches the signature of Jason Russell in the copy of a deed at the Arlington Historical Society (1931.18.1).
