As a result of a new combination of cement and synthetic rubber patch developed by The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, the repair of punctured life rafts can be accomplished in 1-1/2 minutes. The cement and patch are effective In fresh and salt water. With the raft rapidly deflating as a result of a rip in its side, an aviator, forced down in the ocean, can slide overboard and apply cement and patch. This new method is expected to save the lives of many U. S. airmen.
