Caption: Hands Over Big Check--Helen Hayes, of the stage, presents a $30,000 March of Dimes check to Dr. P. D. Howe, Children's Hospital president, with Edward C. Donnelly, Jr., Bay State vicechairman of the March of Dimes campaign, at left. Little Nancy Locke, 4 1/2, holds the hand of her brother, Joseph, a polio patient in Mary McArthur Hospital, Wellesley. Hospital is named for Miss Hayes' daughter, who died from the dread disease several years ago.
