Letter from Philemon Robbins Russell, Lynn, to Amos Augustus Phelps, March 1st 39
Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Philemon R. Russell says he cannot find the original appointment letter for himself as a “lecturing agent of the Mass[achusetts] A[nti]-S[lavery] Society,” but the understanding was that he would labor in towns where nothing has been done to advance the antislavery cause. He also requests that John Whittemore’s copy of the Abolitionist sent to his new address.
