Letter from James Miller M'Kim, Phil[adelphi]a, [Pa.], to William Lloyd Garrison, Oct[ober] 25 / [18]51
Description:
James Miller M'Kim writes William Lloyd Garrison stating that despite their initial disappointment that Garrison was not able to join them at the West Chester meeting, the meeting went exceedingly well, and that they were not troubled by any "foreign interference". M'Kim relates that their advocacy of their cause made a visible impression upon the crowd in attendance. M'Kim forwards engavings of George Thompson, and states that he would appreciate a favorable notice in the Liberator about them. M'Kim closes in inquiring if Garrison is in accord with him on the spiritual origins of "knockings", and states that he should like to hear more from Garrison concerning that particular subject.
