From the section Notes on Printing and Publishing of the catalogue raisonné: " I did the drypoint," Nason wrote to Arthur Heintzelman on November 15, 1950, "from a sketch which I made on the Broadhead in Pennsylvania with the Elys (whom you met the other day) and the figure is Page Ely. I scraped off most of the burr as I wanted a light effect."
