Provenance: Book ticket of Philip C. Duschnes. With a two-page handwritten note titled, "History of the Bible Fragment," that describes the present set of four leaves as belonging to "a Bible in two volumes, containing 493 pages of uterine vellum, folio, bound sumptuously in raised parchment over boards, gold filigree, precious stones, with solid gold clasps, and the coat of arms of Charles VII of France ... The work was commissioned by the Duke of Burgundy, and presented to Charles, after his coronation, in Rheims, which event was made possible by Jeanne D'Arc, who paid dearly for playing the soldier."
