... I fear that it is going to be much harder to retain my power over her, than it has been now that the family can give her words. It is very trying, but they do not pay the slightest attention to my request, that I should be the only one to give her new words. They sometimes give her words that it is not well for her to have and that she cannot have the least idea of the meaning. Her father told her the word "gone" the other day of course she does not know what it means. You can see what a bad effect this is going to have on her development. Then there is one other thing I want you to know about, for it may cause trouble, if it continues. Capt.
