I like here very much and think I shall like better when I am better acquainted. I find Mr. and Mrs. Keller very kind people. Helen, my little pupil, is all that her father described her. It is really wonderful the knowledge the little thing has acquired by the sense of touch and I may add the sense of smell for that...

Handwritten letter from Anne Sullivan to Michael Anagnos, Director of Perkins School for the Blind. Anagnos was responsible for sending Anne Sullivan to Tuscumbia, Alabama to teach Helen Keller. This is the first letter that Sullivan wrote to Anagnos after she arrived at the Keller household.
