In Hospital--General Creighton W. Abrams, commander of all U.S. forces in Vietnam, underwent surgery in Japan Friday for removal of his gall bladder. The U.S. Command announced the operation was completely successful and that he was making good progress toward recovery. The General's family flew to Japan and will stay with him until he is released.
