Drought Cattle Arrive In Newark. The first shipment of cattle to New Jersey from the western drought area as it arrived Aug. 14. The four carloads of beef on the hoof were shunted to a Newark, N.J., slaughter house, where the animals will be killed and the meat used for ERA relief purposes. Arrival of steers for pasturage was expected to start soon.
