Handwriting on the back reads “Addison J. Bennett Great 21 ft. chestnut in pasture east of his house 1908. For town history”. James Addison Bennett was the son of James and Anna (or Rosalie) Bennett and was born in Wilbraham in 1846. He married Hannah Butler and had ten living children with her. He died in 1919.
