Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Samuel J. May expresses his approval of Phelps’s and Garrisons’ replies to Fitch and Towne’s clerical appeal on the Liberator. He then discusses the upcoming meeting in Quincy. In a postscript note, he mentions an article on “female influence & action.” He says “the antislavery question is bringing to light on all hands the hidden things of darkness.”
