Letter from Samuel May, Jr., Leicester [Mass.], to William Lloyd Garrison, June 7, 1852
Description:
Writing to William Lloyd Garrison, Samuel May Jr. reviews items to be added to the next issue of the Liberator: Dr. Taft and J.B. Smith are to be mentioned for providing help to their cause, and so is a special railroad fare (half-price) to Arlington on July 4th. May encloses an excerpts from J. B. Estlin’s letter, which discuss Estin’s interest in Uncle Tom’s Cabin, his opinions on the Colonizationists, and Dr. [John?] Campbell’s attack on Garrison and the dire need to respond to it.
