Letter from Oliver Johnson, Plymouth, N.H., to William Lloyd Garrison, Sept[ember] 5, 1874
Description:
Oliver Johnson writes William Lloyd Garrison from his vacation in Plymouth, New Hampshire, where he, his wife Jane, and their child are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Horatio O. Ladd (Johnson's sister-in-law and husband). Johnson states that he and Ladd visited Henry Ward Beecher at Furin Mountain House. Johnson announces that his family will be in Boston shortly, and that he hopes to be able to pay Garrison and his family a visit, provided that Garrison's continued lameness subsides to render him well enough to receive visitors. Johnson states his great desire to see "some good spirit manifestations" while in Boston.
