Letter from John Edward May, Cambridge, to William Lloyd Garrison, 2 July 1871
Description:
John Edward May writes William Lloyd Garrison informing him that he had received the telegram that afternoon informing him of the death of his father, Samuel Joseph May. May states his hopes that Garrison will be able to journey to Syracuse for the funeral, and informs Garrison of the arrangements. May adds that his father would "rather have [Garrison] speak at his funeral than any other one".
