Methodist Church, 300 Massachusetts Avenue. Built in 1923, this church is distinguished by its striking tower, designed by Charles Bulfinch - one of the nation's most eminent 19th century architects. The tower itself was built in 1809, originally standing atop the Boylston Market, and later the Van Nostrand brewery in Charlestown, before coming to Arlington.
