Louis Bouché (1896-1969), an American painter of French ancestry, was successful as an artist and a businessman. In addition to easel painting, he painted murals and designed jewelry. Bouché attended the Art Students League in 1916, and his friendship with Bellows is likely to have begun at this time. (Mason)
