Sumner Lincoln writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to thanking her for sending "Right and Wrong in Massachusetts." He refers to the book's discussion of old and new organizations. He sends a sermon on holiness "which I have endeavored to exhibit the standard of right to your mind has been drawn to the great subject of right & wrong." He goes on to say that the anti-slavery movement has been a great revealer of the corrupt heart of "religionists of all sects."
