Description:
Theodore Parker writes to Convers Francis in regards to a visit he received from the devil who told him that his letter "was full of sneers and sarcasms and you believed it all." He wonders if E[lizabeth]. P[almer].P[eabody]. that virago of Bibliopolis has sent him a copy of Parker's book for Germany. A drawing is accompanied of a devil leaning over [Francis?] reading a letter at his desk saying, "That's full of sneers & sarcasms old fellow!"

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript contains annotations in pencil in top left corner of first page. There is also a drawing accompanied with the letter. On the back of the drawing is an annotation in pencil that says "the head of Bulfinch St."
