Samuel Ware writes to Amos A. Phelps to accept the position for the new society, stating his dislike for Garrison because "his women and no government virus I abhor." He says that it has been two years since he signed a petition for a new organization and there has been no change until now, so "therefore I am prepared to gain heart and head in the new state organization. At the next meeting of our...Society, of which I have the honour to be the President, I shall recommend to withdraw our connection with them and...join the new society."
