Henry Leuchtman was 72 years old when the interview was recorded, and lived in Greenfield, MA. Leuchtman was born and raised in New York City. He moved to Franklin County, MA in 1979 and lived with his wife and children in Health for many years. He worked in computer systems in many locations, including UMass Amherst and the Franklin County Jail, as well as taught computer information systems classes at Greenfield Community College. In this interview, Leuchtman discusses his early life and work life, as well as his observations of the disruptions of COVID lockdowns and restrictions. In particular, he discusses the disorientation and loss of a sense of date and time that came with retirement and especially with the abrupt ending of pre-COVID routines, among other topics.
