Judy Raper, a resident of Greenfield, MA, was born and raised in an Indianapolis, IN, suburb and attended Indiana University for her bachelor’s degree and the University of Vermont for her master’s. She has worked in higher education at Syracuse University, Ithaca College, Keene State College, Hampshire College, and Greenfield Community College. When this interview was recorded, Raper had worked at GCC for fifteen years and was the Associate Dean for Community Engagement. In this interview, Raper discusses large events she attended right before COVID lockdowns began and her dawning awareness of the pandemic. She also discussed a series of losses of close friends and family, as well as the negative impacts of isolation. She also talks about lessons she has learned from the pandemic, among other issues.
