A group of tall warehouses and a clock tower lighted from the left; In front of them high palings shored up, and In front of these palings a low, dark wall extending to the left end of the plate, where a small chapel stands behind the wall; on the near side of It are two masts towards the left, and the end of another high building on the extreme right. In the foreground are men and carts near each end of the plate. This state of the plate is divided by vertical lines into four unequal spaces, of which the first is blank; the second contains sketches of a house, a bird, two figures, and some birds in the air, put in by the artist's son, Stephen; the third contains the subject described and the fourth a sketch of a man standing on a hillock watching the sunrise.
