Brockton Area Branch NAACP at the State House for prostate cancer
Description:
'It was a very special day at the Statehouse in April 2018. As president of the Brockton Area Branch National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), I was given the opportunity to speak at the Annual Prostate Awareness Day. Our branch is partners with Admetech Foundation and under the guidance of Dr. Faina Shtern. This event is hosted each year to bring awareness of prostate cancer, especially among African American men. I was truly humbled that day and very appreciative. It was even more rewarding to have daughters Tiffanie and Nishwanda there with me. We were allowed to take this photo in the Chamber where the important business is conducted. It felt good to be up there. Pictured: State Representative Gerald Cassidy, Jason Wheeler, Nishwanda Ellis, Diane Raysan, Tiffanie Ellis-Niles, Phyllis Ellis, State Representative Claire Cronin, Bishop Tony Branch, and Stephen Bernard.'
