Brockton Area Branch NAACP celebrates its 60th anniversary
Description:
'The Brockton Area Branch National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) celebrated its 60th anniversary on November 8, 2014 at Lombardo's in Randolph and it was an outstanding event with hundreds in attendance. The theme was 'An Evening of Culture' and it was just that. We had attendees from the Mayor of Brockton to the late State Senator Thomas Kennedy. This collage of pictures also includes Martine Gomes, Janet Trask, Mary Timberlake, Steve Bernard, the late Josette Dubois, Phoebe Soares, Danny Steele, Phyllis Ellis, Nick Tavares, Bevette Davis, Katherine Briggs, Liv Walker (our keynote speaker for the evening), Byron Barnett (our Master of Ceremony), Mark Linde, Mrs. Cohen (widow of Bernard Cohen), and Lucia Shannon. I served as Chair of the 60th anniverary and I was very proud of that evening.'
