Regarding the idea the director of the Middlesex County Hospital's idea of a halfway house where people with physical disabilities can "live, be cared for and yet be able to get to school or work." The article discusses three young men living at the hospital and attending nearby Massachusetts Bay Community College, which they are transported to by a van equipped to travel with wheelchairs. A roundtable discussion at the hospital was held to talk about expanding the project, and Elmer C. Bartels and Thomas C. O'Brien of the Massachusetts Association of Paraplegics were present.
