A meeting took place in which the hospital discussed the establishment of a halfway house for people with spinal cord injuries where they can receive the care they need while living independently. The hospital needs funding and community support in order to make the facility a reality. Elmer C. Bartels of the Massachusetts Association of Paraplegics is mentioned as explaining that they have been working on their own housing project and that the problem is too great for any agency to tackle.
