In this speech presented to the AMI, Rae discusses mental illness as a social issue, spiritual issue, political issue, personal issue, and power issue. She talks about the history of the mental patients movement and addresses family members of people with mental illnesses and asks them to consider whether or not the mental health system actually works, and encourages family members to support the patients rights movement.
