In response to the ABC program "Madness and Medicine" which Dr. Macht outlines why the program was offensive; he says that electroshock and brain operations are performed rarely, there is scientific evidence of the effectiveness and psychiatric treatments, and claims the program was "a cruel and unjust indictment of psychiatry."
