The single set of tracks ran along the south side of the street until Pond Street, when it crossed and went along the north side. The line wasn't extended to the Heights until 1893, four years after it converted from horse-drawn to electric trolley cars, and double-tracked in the center of the avenue. Today's MBTA Bus 77 is the direct descendant of this horse railway service within Arlington."
