The document was written April 7th by the Precinct Clerk, John Cutter Jr., by order of the Committee. It is a notice requiring the collector of the northwest precinct of Cambridge, William Cutter, to notify freeholders and inhabitants of the area as well as those of Charlestown, who are qualified to vote, to attend a town meeting. The meeting would take place at the meetinghouse on April 26th at 2pm. The tasks required for the meeting (numbered 1-3) were to know whether inhabitants will decide on a choice of minister; to know how they will proceed when they choose a minister; and to know whether they will choose a committee to confer with the baptists to arrive to a settlement, as well as assist with the above tasks. A response was required on or before the date for the meeting. The reverse contains a short response from William Cutter that he has notified the proper parties.
