The Trooper, printed daily aboard the transport ship U.S.S. General M.B. Stewart, features national and international news culled from short wave broadcasts of the Armed Forces Radio Service broadcasting from San Francisco, as well as information about shipboard activities, entertaining articles, crossword puzzles, line drawings, sports, and a section called "Whatcha think?" compiling GIs' views on an assortment of topics.
