William Wordsworth letter to Joshua Watson, 1840 February 11
Description:
A letter to Joshua Watson from William Wordsworth. Wordsworth refers to a bill he is listed as owing in a Mr. Harrison's book, but he notes that his daughter left the amount with Watson's housekeeper the previous February 26. He goes on to offer his deep sympathy for Watson's loss, most likely referring to the death of Watson's daughter, Mary Sikes Watson, which occurred in 1840. Wordsworth also extends his sympathy to Mr. Henry Mitchell Wager, the husband of Watson's daughter. The letter includes annotations not in Wordsworth's hand.
