Description:
A letter to William L. Marcy, Governor of New York, in which Edward Hitckcock agrees to the terms Marcy has detailed in a recent letter on the payment Hitchcock will receive working for the geological survey of New York. Hitchcock details the the terms, noting the commission he will get, the district he has been assigned to, and that Charles B. Adams will be his assistant. In a postscript Hitchcock writes that he still does not think the compensation is enough.
