Brent admits he hasn't been writing often enough but his excuse is that he is not near enough to the front to be in much danger or have anything exciting to report. He writes in greater detail about his work in motorized transportation and the people he directs, many of whom are the best the USA had to give from the automobile industry. He finds managing men the most wonderful game in the world, easy to do wrong, but rewarding when done right. He wishes he could be with his family because it is almost the anniversary of the death of his infant son, whom he loved dearly. He wishes to return to his wife and his two sons because he has so much to teach them.
