The Weidensall Literary Society of the Springfield YMCA Training School was formed along with the County Work Deputation courses in 1914. "The Weidensall Society is not limited in its membership to 'County Men.' Its membership is made up of students from all departments of the College who are interested in the discussion of rural subjects, for it is the aim of this Society to confine its work to these subjects as much as possible." (The Massasoit, 1915, p. 12).
A handwritten caption on the back of the photograph reads: "The caption on the verso of this photo reads, "County Work Group Dec. 1914".
