Red clay architectural brick from Pattee Bake House. A newspaper clipping about Cradock House in Medford pasted on bottom. C. 1810. Clipping is torn, but reads "Medford An Old House. The Gazette says that the oldest house in New England, if not in the United States, is in Medford, according to the [New] England Religious Magazine - the house of M [missing] Cradock, the first Governor of the Massachu[setts Ba]y Company. His farm, on which this house w[as situa]ted, about 1640, contained over two thousand [acres of?] land."
