Medium sized paperback book, with an illustration of Uncle Sam stirring a cauldron labeled "The Melting Pot" on the cover. "War Pictures" is written above the illustration in pencil, and "T.H. Eames" written below. The first part of the book contains photos of American involvement in World War 1. There are photos of American troops in training camps, on parade in Europe, and on the battlefield. There are also photos of American tanks and ships, as well as photos showing the war effort in American cities. In the middle of the book is a newspaper clipping containing a list of events summarizing the war. There are a number of receipts from the army retail store in South Boston, as well as a price list for the store. The second half of the book a number of miscellaneous photos and newspaper articles the owner found interesting. There are several photos of sites in Europe, a few poems about modern life, and a few photos of the Massachusetts state guard and militia. The last few pages contains photos taken at Camp Devens in Ayer, Massachusetts, taken during the war. Paper and binding is in good condition. Many of the photos include a year, and several include copyright information.
