Emily Fuller Drew Collection MC16

or
A lifelong resident of Kingston, MA, Emily Fuller Drew (1881-1950) worked briefly as a schoolteacher and for much longer as a bookkeeper for her family's business. But her great avocation--and her true legacy--lay in her historical work: researching, collecting, documenting, and preserving the history of her hometown. Her photograph collection, from which this digital compilation is drawn, includes images she took herself along with copy photographs of earlier images and prints made from others' negatives. Through the early decades of the 20th century, Drew documented the houses, places, and people of Kingston. Her view of Kingston is unparalleled.
