The Pine and Palm

or
The Pine and Palm is a weekly newspaper published by James Redpath in Boston, Massachusetts from 1861 to 1862. The paper proclaimed to be "devoted to the interests of freedom, and of the colored races in America," and strongly promoted the idea of Haitian resettlement for free and formerly enslaved black people. However, this unpopular emigrationist stance and antipathy towards the paper's editorial practices led to condemnation from the broader black print community of newspapers, activists, readers, and writers.
